    Rennes ;)
  1. Heyyy, glad to see you took some time to visit the area
  2. Thanks, we'll try to! You are right, the UEFA cup is not taken seriously by Rennes : a B-team played the first game, and even yesterday we waited the second half to field Fanni, currently our best defender and only player in the French national squad...in order to save him for sunday's game against Toulouse. Besides, only 11000 people showed up at the stadium (while 29000 showed up for the latest, unsignificant championship home game against Lille...) Makes you wonder why we even bother to try to qualify for the cup.. Leroy is 34 and Pagis is 35. They are probably our most creative players, we're very dependent on them. There are doubts whether they will be able to play a full season, but so far, so good. A bit like you with Nannskog I suppose..
  3. Good game guys, too bad your major players didnt play at their best level tonight. I honestly thought your team would make it, tho! I don't really believe in Rennes' abilities to go very far in this cup, but you never know with them! hej då!
  4. Hey guys, here's a link for Rennes' youth hostel, it's cheap and not too far from the bus line going to the Stadium (line 11). http://www.hihostels.com/dba/hostels-Auber...s-020002.fr.htm Also, I forgot, if you plan on sightseeing a bit around Rennes, you must not only see Saint Malo, but also the Mont Saint Michel (8th wonder of the world!). If you don't, it will be like going to Paris and not see the Eiffel Tower! http://www.la-france-vue-du-ciel.fr/images...l_1280x1024.jpg You can do both Saint Malo and this in a day trip, starting with the Mont in the morning then beach at Saint Malo in the afternoon. Trains only go as far as Saint Malo, so you would probably need to rent a car in Rennes (1 hour drive to Mont St Michel)
  5. Thx GSK
  6. Funny, cos when I clicked on the french flag of this very website today, it seemed to me that the webmaster had taken the "google translation tool" shortcut as well
  7. Yep, Brittany in english, Bretagne in french.. I wasnt sure how you guys called it
  8. Seriously tho, Rennes has a problem with European games. Our best achievements are a victory against Osasuna, one vs Aston Villa and a draw vs Juventus Turin. And that's pretty much it...in 10 years. For some reason, we definitely don't get the same results in Europe than at home. Besides, as Knut mentionned, our season hasnt started yet; that could prove a serious hurdle, even though we won all pre-season games (except the latest intertoto cup game). Oddly, that latter defeat (but qualification through shootouts) might have boldened spirits in the team. Finally, we're currently having issues with our most important players : Briand (prolly the best one) wants to leave to Paris, the coach doesnt like Wiltord (totally ununderstandable to us) so Wiltord does not play, Gyan won't be totally fit before September and Mbia will most likely play in the Olympics! Fortunately, Leroy and Pagis - our oldest yet pretty much best - players should play. lycka till! (sorry, learned swedish here )
  9. Contact Clark for accomodation! He'll gladly help you. By the way, if you come to Rennes for the game, you may as well want to spend a couple of days in Brittany: a day in Saint-Malo (regular trains from city center to city center) and the coast around it, or a couple of days in south-brittany
