Good game guys, too bad your major players didnt play at their best level tonight. I honestly thought your team would make it, tho! I don't really believe in Rennes' abilities to go very far in this cup, but you never know with them!

hej då!

Rennes are a dirty, dirty team and the referee and linesmen had obviously been instructed to make sure the little team from Norway did not go through.

It's true that we didn't play well enough to win tonight, but seeing us lose to a team like that makes me sick.

Thank you -

Sadly we're dependent on players like Nannskog, Farnerud, Annan and Gunnarsson to play at their best level in order for us to perform in games like this. And as you say - Last night they were quite ordinary, some perhaps even sub par. We're lacking experience form games at this level and to me it seemed like our players were quite nevous. We also had way to much respect for Rennes. We gave the Rennes players to much space and time. In addition it seemed like Rennes had done their homework, were able to shut down our normal passing channels and succeeded in marking Gunnarsson out of the game. The few times he was able to break free from the marking, he was fouled. It's not pretty, but it was effective. I've also got a sneeking suspicion that Rennes did not field it's best team against us in the first game at Nadderud. Briand, Sow and Leroy all liftet Rennes offensive play - I was quite impressed with Leroy - how old is he? 33 or something?? anyway he had a strong performance last night!

So good luck to you in trying to qualify for the UEFA cup group stage!

Cheers

Thanks, we'll try to!

You are right, the UEFA cup is not taken seriously by Rennes : a B-team played the first game, and even yesterday we waited the second half to field Fanni, currently our best defender and only player in the French national squad...in order to save him for sunday's game against Toulouse. Besides, only 11000 people showed up at the stadium (while 29000 showed up for the latest, unsignificant championship home game against Lille...) Makes you wonder why we even bother to try to qualify for the cup..

Leroy is 34 and Pagis is 35. They are probably our most creative players, we're very dependent on them. There are doubts whether they will be able to play a full season, but so far, so good. A bit like you with Nannskog I suppose..
